Prague Highlights – Best Prague Attractions

sky2

Looking back on our Prague visit, I can still say that my feeling about the city has not changed much. I stand by my conclusion that Prague is very much like a chocolate Easter egg. One of those ones that look gorgeous on the outside and are completely hollow on the inside. Not the best, …

Cesky Krumlov view from hill top

A Prague to Cesky Krumlov day trip is highly recommended when visiting the Czech Republic. Having heard and read about the beauty of Cesky Krumlov, we decided to check out this indeed quite a beautiful city that is located in the South Bohemia region of the Czech Republic. The biggest draw of Cesky Krumlov is its behemoth 13th-century castle (Cesky Krumlov Castle) which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. We had to see for ourselves if it was worth all the hype.

narodni technicke muzeum

The National Technical Museum in Prague is definitely worth visiting. Despite the fact that l, personally didn’t like Prague much (unlike Federico), I found a few things l did enjoy doing. Hands down, the highlight of Prague for me was a visit to the Nadroni Technicke Muzeum (National Technical Museum) adjacent to the famous Letna Park.

Imagine my surprise when we spent over 5 hours discovering everything related to the history of technology in the Czech Republic. Had hunger not gotten a hold of us, I’m sure we could have stayed longer. The Technické Muzeum is spread out over 6 floors, including 3 below ground. Deceptively small from the outside, it is a mecca for, not just techno geeks, but everybody. This post is image heavy, so be warned :-).

Yes! We are finally in Prague, Czech Republic. This trip had been on the books for a very long time, but for some reason or the other never came to pass until now. I finally booked it while we were still wavering between leaving Spain altogether and trying a new country or staying on. Federico, being the daredevil was all set to move without having visited, while l was a bit more cautious. We had moved to Malaga without a prior visit and ultimately, neither of us loved it. We liked it well enough, but a weekend visit maybe, not to live. Seville suited us much better, as does Valencia now. I was therefore not eager to do the same thing with a new country. Besides, as a black woman, I wanted to make sure l would feel comfortable enough among the locals. I can’t afford to make those decisions willy-nilly! 🙂
