As we slowly make our way through week three of the Spain lockdown, I thought l’d update you on the mood of at least this household as we settle in for what is looking like the middling of this whole episode. From the latest news clip released yesterday, it is likely that the lockdown will actually be extended till April 26th. I can understand why they would do this, and hope we all have the needed patience.

If you’re looking for another one of those “woe is me” blog posts about the COVID-19 Coronavirus, then you need to move on because this is definitely not it. In fact, I feel a rant coming on. By now, the whole frigging world knows about this virus and people are absolutely losing their minds and expecting a Dawn of the Dead zombie apocalypse. I am reading reports of people stockpiling crap as if the world is coming to an end. Stop the insanity already. Here is why l think we are hurting ourselves more than helping.

I’ve wanted to visit Salamanca ever since l saw the old centre in a movie. It was therefore a no-brainer that we would add it to our itinerary. Salamanca in the west of Spain was our next destination after leaving Burgos. It turned out to be every bit as beautiful as l imagined. It definitely deserves its ‘Golden City” nickname.
