Istanbul Is A Turkish Delight Worth Visiting

Istanbul turkish delight The Hagia Sophia — The Hagia Sophia. It was originally a Christian Basilica, then a Mosque, but is now a museum.

Istanbul Visit Was Delightful:

Our first visit to Istanbul was a runaway success! We spent a bit over a week exploring just part of this humongous and absolutely fascinating city. We only got to experience just a bit, which was nice as it keeps you wanting to come back for more. The people were extremely friendly and helpful. I had previously been to Istanbul, but it was only a 24 hour layover. You will agree with us that Istanbul is a turkish delight and not just because of the candy.

l wanted to experience the city with my husband so l did not go sight seeing. As luck would have it, shortly after, Turkish Airlines had a €99 round trip fare that we took advantage of. Yeah :-). It’s always a good idea to search for deals. I like to use Skyscanner (putting everywhere as the destination, so that you get loads of deal fares). Hopefully, you will agree with me that Istanbul is a Turkish delight for sure. It’s full of yummy goodness.

El Retiro Park- A Beautiful Oasis In Madrid Spain

The El Retiro Park is one of the biggest parks in Madrid. This Buen Retiro Park in Madrid is approximately 350 acres and is located close to the city center. We decided to visit the park after passing it on our way to the Prado museum which is less than a ten minute walk from the park. The Atocha train station is also close by the park and we were staying in the neighbourhood.

I have previously touched on it in a previous post. I can say without a doubt that it is one of my favourite parks in the world. The colours seem to be exaggerated and the wide open spaces made me want to burst out singing like Maria in “The sound of music”. The place makes you feel good to be alive. Make time to check it out if and when you visit Madrid.

I can’t even begin to tell you how fast l felt 2018 flew by. It’s not just me either, I hear the same things from friends across all age groups. Our grades for last year seems so fresh in mind, like l just wrote that post a few days ago. Reading that post, I’m glad that we improved on a couple of things. Our report is a bit better than the last year. Here is the next bite of life review for 2018.

Athens is an absolutely marvelous place, no doubt about it. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit and definitely plan on going back at some point in the future. Nonetheless, it is not a perfect place. No place in the world is. I have alluded to the three sides on our postcard post, but l will delve into it a little more.

As tourists, we often gloss over the great parts of a place and rarely see the true local side of said place. It’s understandable, after all, you’re on vacation and world problems should not be on your mind.
