Our weekend in Verona was amazing to say the least. We got to explore a new part of Italy together and we also got to spend some quality time with old friends who were visiting from Houston. Verona had not been our first choice. We actually suggested elsewhere (Perugia), but in the end, their choice of cities was perfect. Here is how to spend a weekend in Verona and our highlights of the best things to do in the pretty and romantic city.

When in Rome – act like a tourist and see everything you can is my advice. This time around, after spending time with Federico’s family, it was time to do more of the ancient Rome tours. Our Roman history tour was a combination walking tour covering the Colosseum Underground, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum and it was complimentary, courtesy of The Roman Guy. Here’s why we think you should definitely do this tour as part of your Rome itinerary when you visit the eternal city.
If you follow us on Facebook or Instagram, you know that we are in the Kingdom of Ramses, all 11 of them! What a fabulous country Egypt is turning out to be. Another place I was sure I would like, and l am proving myself right. I am somewhat surprised that Federico likes it too (he is already plotting a return!). Definitely an impulsive decision to visit. It started out with an innocent conversation that started merely three weeks ago. Here’s how it went down, and we have definitely found ourselves enchanted with Egypt.
Happy New Year everyone! We are currently in Verona, home to the forever romantic couple of young lovers Romeo and Juliet. Prior to Verona, we were enjoying Rome with Federico’s family. Just like in Spain, the holiday celebration is on January 6 (along with Christmas Eve) and it was fun being with the kids, but l have to admit, I am happy to be away from them.
I can’t even begin to tell you how fast l felt 2018 flew by. It’s not just me either, I hear the same things from friends across all age groups. Our grades for last year seems so fresh in mind, like l just wrote that post a few days ago. Reading that post, I’m glad that we improved on a couple of things. Our report is a bit better than the last year. Here is the next bite of life review for 2018.
