The last year went by so fast, and l can’t believe 2015 is already here. I thought about doing one of those happy new year / year in review/ flashback posting, but l realized that truthfully, nobody gave a flying fig :-) . We rang in the new year with a traditional Italian New Year eve dinner, Lentils with Cotechino, a pork based sausage like thing that is just wicked delicious, and a bottle of Spanish Cava wine, no Veuve Cliquot this year! We could not find any at the stores. It turned out to be a good thing as we found this lovely little beauty. It is a semi sweet (semi seco) sparkling wine, called Prima Aoba. It was so fruity and delicious. The best part was that neither one of us had a hangover this morning. I am now a big fan of it, and it was so damn cheap too, being a Spanish production. It was.. €3.55 on sale! I recommend it highly if it’s available in your neck of the woods. We watched the movie “Trip to Italy”. It was quiet in our part of Malaga, save for the occasional bang, unlike Malta where loud fireworks are the norm. Our dogs certainly appreciated it.
My little project was editing our pictures from our Roman Holiday. That sounds so Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck… My husband is a big statue fan, so l put together a little video of some of the statues in and around Rome and Florence. It would have been too much trying to put them all in a post, so l thought this would be better. Yeah..it required lugging around a big ass lens, but l think it was worth it. Kindly share if you like it. The music is from the movie Gladiator, featuring one of my favorite singers, Lisa Gerrard. I have loved her for years, since her days in the group “Dead can Dance”. I saw them in concert many, many years ago in Los Angeles :-)
Once again, a Happy New Year to all. I hope 2015 brings you good health, and l hope all your dreams and wishes come through.
